Live on the Radio May 20th
Murphy and Jayla are pleased to welcome Dr. John Douglas, Executive Director of the Tri-County Health Department in Colorado. TCH serves Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties and is the largest local health Department in Colorado. Dr. Douglas provides us with an educational look at the basics of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and how the current version of the 2017 American Health Care Act just passed by the House of Representatives would change and impact Coloradoans. Learn if you stand to gain or lose from the proposed legislation. Did you know there is an “age” tax? Find out what it is and how it might affect you. Dr. Douglas also addresses some of his additional concerns regarding the current healthcare debate.
Jayla introduces us to Jacob Riger, manager of DRCOG’s long range transportation planning process. As Jacob explains, this basically means looking at all modes of transportation and figuring out what the region’s needs will be and what the area can afford with the projected revenues coming in over a period of time. The issue is very complex considering inadequate funding, massive projected growth for the area and just maintaining what we have. Learn about some of the progress that has been made and the creative ideas for moving forward.
